I purchased my computer in 2005 and it is run on Windows XP. Recently everytime I turn off the computer or reboot it, the program "Power Meter" comes up and says that it needs to end the program before shutting down the computer. To me, a power problem in a computer can not be any good.

Does anyone have any advice?

It's not a power problem. The power meter is a service. Windows Explorer is having difficulty ending this process. Look in the Event Viewer under System events to see if you can get a cluse as to what the actual problem is.

1. Click Start, choose Run
2. type eventvwr.exe
3. Press Enter
