I found it to be SO sad, and I usually can laugh at dysfunction and dark humor like no tomorrow - but this was deeply disturbing, especially having it center around a young girl.

Of course, some of it was funny and shows the strength and determination of a family, but it was really sickening how they treated "Grandpa's" body, and those girls at the end (I realize it is a mockery of beauty pageants, but that was just disturbing)!

Anyone else agree?

I loved that movie. The beauty pagent thing unfortunately is not far from the truth on how they are and that is why I do not like them. If they would allow the children to look and act like children that would be fine. It was just a movie so the way they treated grandpa was not much different than that of vacation with Chevy Chase. The part that did make me cry, and I did cry, was when the son discoverd he was color blind and could not fly jets that was sooooo sad. I guess in the end it made me realize that my family is just crazy enough to do for my daughter what Olives family did for her
