What causes a person to resort to mental and/or physical abuse?

Why do people desire to pick apart another human being? What's the purpose?

They are full of anger & want others to be punished because of it. They need serious help.

That can cause so many problems especially mental abuse....but abuse is abuse. People like to see other people in misery thats why and people who physical abuse other people have A LOT of angry issues and that may be the reason for that. But there are a lot of sick people out there. But lets say sexual abuse is different they any other type of abuse because when an older person is sexually abusing a child they are thinking about themselves and not the child that is very selfish and in that case they might have been abused themselves and think it is ok.

They may be paranoid and hateful to begin with. Sometimes, there is a history of mental illness, abuse or hardship. People can be indoctrinated into hate, so it is likely that abuse, drug addiction and other negative elements in the home contribute in some situations. Their society could have certain ingrained attitudes towards women or classes.

To feel better about themselves. These types of people are insecure and unstabel and want to see others feel the same way. It makes them feel better and satisfies them. Sick but I feel its true.
