A merger takes place when 2 or more companies become under one big umbrella. It is painful for the people who try to adapt to the new policies / culture or worse, politics! The organisational structure has changed so much so that one might loses his/ her job over night due to redundancy. Not only it affects the company on a whole, the effect rippers to the customers, vendors, distributors, dealers etc. New policies will be drafted. Duplicated positions / jobs will be dismissed. People get transferred. It will take a while for the organisation to settle down. What's worse, day to day business operation will be inevitably affected.
