He has two white hard bumps on his top gums, these have to be his teeth right? They also seem to be higher up on his gums than I thought they'd come in. Is this normal, is this too early for teeth?

Those are teeth, and if they look like they are coming out the front rather than the bottom of the gums that is normal. Check out your own front teeth, you have more gum behind than in front.

Now it could still be a long time before the teeth come in, happened to my son. Or it could be in no time.

No. Nor is it uncommon. Of course, there are occasions when a child is born with one or more teeth already. It just happens. It Is better for the kid, since he would otherwise have to go through the discomfort of teething and the teeth coming in.

Of course, it can be a bit tough on the mom. If she is breast-feeding !

So, don't sweat it. Your child is normal--just a bit early.

no, it's not to early. You'll probably see his little shinners start coming out at 4 months old. Don't worry about it. My son cut his first teeth at 4 months too. Some start earlier than others.

No. My cousin's baby started getting teeth at 2 months! He is a completely healthy baby too. If you are concerned though, phone Health Links and ask. They'll give you a good answer. If I were you I'd buy your son a teether and the toothpaste and (toothbrush) for your baby. The toothpaste and brush will keep his teeth from tooth decay.

Not too early. Don't worry about these things. It's natural, not like he bump his head and all of the sudden growing teeth.
If it's a natural matter, live with it.

Not too early - and yes, they do look like they should be further down on the gums . . . trust nature to do the correct thing.

Babies don't start getting teeth till 6 months. If he has these bumps you might want to take him to see his doctor.
