No.

Wade is the only star on the team.

Shaq reached his prime long ago. It's all downhill from here.

Pat Riley's gone for an indefinite amount of time.

Or you can think of it this way:

Match up Miami's starting line-up (even with Shaq) with any of the expected playoff contenders (Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix)

Yeah, Miami's going to the playoffs. Yeah, they might even make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. But look at how weak the East is. Utah, Denver, Phoenix, both LA teams, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, and Phoenix would all beat Miami in a best-of-7 series. Even Golden State and Sacramento would be a challenge.

Miami is lacking the motivation and is suffering from injuries. My prediction is Conference finals AT MOST.

I don't really think so. Getting into the playoffs, of course! But actually "Taking Off" would be pretty hard. Even with Wade's spectacular basketball skills, Kapono's crazy threes, and Mourning's big blocks, the team still lacks something more. Look at all the good teams right now, they all have two or three star players on their team (eg. Dallas/ Nowitzki,Terry, Howard Phoenix/ Steve Nash, Marion, Stoudamire San Antonio/ Duncan, Parker, Ginobili). The team is way too much for Wade to carry on his back.

no. they probably wont get very far in the playoffs. id be surprised if they get into the eastern conference finals, shaq is getting really old, and teams r adjusting to miami. if miami doesnt get home court in the playoffs, which they probably wont, then it wont take long for them to get knocked out. im sure that a team from the west will win, so it doesnt matter how far miami gets, they wont win anothe championship.

take off?? nah!! they should trade james posey or walker and acquire guys who can play alongside wade. shaq is getting old and he can't be dominant anymore. i think the best deal miami could have right now is to acquire mike bibby of kings for walker and j.williams.
