I'm also korean, and i think cream would also be a good choice. I wore a "champagne" (that was the color it said on the tag) colored dress to a sweet sixteen, and I still had a little bit of my tan from the summer. The color really stands out and looks good. Its a lot better than white because it has a more elegant look, which is good for the graduation dance, and its not so much of a contrast like white would be.

In that link, it shows how great the cream looks against tan skin.

I'm also korean and I also have tannish skin.
I would either wear something that really brightens
you. Black wouldn't work well. It'll be too dark, and it'll
look a bit gothic. These are some colors I suggest:

1) Green ( My most favorite and elegant color )
2) Red ( Really brightens your skin tone and body shape )
3) Purple ( Purple could work. Try not to make it too dark )
4) Pink ( Maybe light pink, which I suggest )
5) Beige ( May not be the prettiest color, but it looks really good )
6) Blue ( Probably dark blue, which I would suggest. Not too dark )

Try different dresses in stores and see which color fits you best.
I sometimes wish I can lose this tannish skin, but friends say it's gorgeous. :)

I'm a darker skinned Korean too, and I tend to stay with bolder colors (black, red, maroon, deep blues, greens). Since we have that yellow undertone in our skin, we should stay away from yellows and oranges cause it'll just wash us out. For an 8th grade grad dance, I'd stick with something anywhere from mid calf to knee length and choose solid colors with a very little design. It makes a great statement and is dramatic, without being over the top.

Asian skin tends to have yellow undertones. Usually reds, royal blues, emerald greens and fuscia pinks look good. Don't wear yellows, orange tones, or anything that will bring out your yellow undertones. You can also wear black, but I would soften it with color around your face, maybe a scarf, nice jewelry.

As far as the type of dress, keep it simple, elegant, and comfortable enough to dance. Don't buy anything too fussy, glittery, or that will make you stand out in a bad way!

kool! im an asian 8th grader too.
for me green looks really good.
as you know, nearly all Asians have naturally brown eyes and brown/black. But there are some natural green -eyed asains in southern china. Thats where im from and my mother has green eyes! I tried on some green contacts and a green dress and it looked great!
ive already bought mine and its a simple sleeveless dress thats knee length and is green with a black lacey things! its so pretty!

good luck!

I have a Korean decendent friend who looks great in blue and her mom looks great in purple. So I would have to say blues, purples, and some greens probably blue greens.

Good Luck!

My daughter is Asian and looks good in any colors and all colors, but if you want to stand out I would avoid black or brown, if your hair is very dark, these colors do look good, however they blend together to much to stand out.

PS
take pictures of yourself in different colors to see which ones you look good in!

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be beautiful in anything!

in the adventure that your coloring is gentle, you ought to make certain whether you have cool undertones or heat undertones. sounds such as you're a the two a "gentle Spring" or "gentle summer time" in case you have warmer undertones, peach or gentle lemon yellow, gentle tan, comfortable pink, gentle vegetables and different gentle heat hues will look terrific. in case you have cool undertones, gentle blue, pinks, lavenders, berry and different pastels will look terrific.. Even a comfortable white will look sturdy. sidestep darkish or overbearing hues like black or astounding purple as they'll only emphasize the paleness of your epidermis. donning hues in the "gentle" seasonal palettes will harmonize with you and look terrific.
