This weekend I heard the most far fetched, tabloid sounding gossip I think I have ever heard...that Tom Cruise actually ate the placenta of his fiance and his baby!? Could anyone set me straight and perhaps throw in a web link or two so I can see where this may have come from?

Eating placentas is not only common among certain cultures but it is also considered trendy among some fairly sophisticated people. It is called the "meat of life." For women it is not only a source of nutrients but also has hormones that assist in starting the flow of breast milk and in the healing of the uterus.
Whether that particular bizzaro joined in that activity I have no clue. A gossip columnist may have heard it was strange and immediately thought it had a link to him. Sooner or later they will come up with a doctored photo that shows him munching on something like that.

I havent heard that one yet..But I have read in papers of the mother and father eating the placenta..it is pretty disgusting in my opnion but doctors seem to think that eating it is very good for you,because it has all of the nutrients the body needs and sometimes recommends it if u are into that sorta thing...= \
there are even meal like recipes for eating the placenta including placenta stew, placenta lasagna, power drinks with blended placenta and others. Though some mothers have been reported to eat placenta raw. It's much more beneficial for the mother to consume some of the placenta.

Scientology is a very strange cult and that is one of the strange things they believe in, so yes, I'd say that he ate part of it and then had a portion placed in a sealed clear glass locket that he wears around his neck.

I highly doubt it, although in some backward coultures the women eat the placenta, which is gross to, but custum,ugh
