I am surprised you haven't had more. I am not diabetic but am considered high risk. I get an ultrsound every two weeks. Your circumstances may have to do with the kind of insurance you have. I have Kaiser and see two high-risk specialists, a perinatologist and a Certified Nurse Midwife who specializes in high risk pregnancies. As far as I know, gestational diabetes is considered a high-risk complication in pregnancy. I would ask your doctor or midwife why you haven't had more.

I was a pregnant diabetic and at first was getting ultrasounds about once a month, then twice a month around 5 months. Then I had my son at 26 weeks so I didn't need anymore. I would say get one about twice a month to be safe unless your doctor thinks once a month is fine after your 5th month.

I got one at 8 weeks, 19 weeks, 36 weeks & 39 weeksfor my 4th son. I did not have any additional ones with my 3rd son and he was a 10# 1oz baby!! Just depends on your health, age, & OB :)
