I'm looking for both educational and fun. Also, which airport is better to fly into? Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

Well you can visit Dallas and go to Six Flags Texas. It is a cool place. Im 13 and i love it. So I think your 13 year old son will love it. Also visit houston and go to Galveston Beach south of Houston. Dallas Airport I think is the best. It isnt as busy.

PLEASE READ, i have some good ideas that you and your kids might like.

Dallas Airport i find convenient for me, but thats just me. im 15 and i have alot of fun at the billions of state parks here. (keep in mind i have no idea where you are planning to go in Texas)

go here: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/dinosaur_valley/
Dinosaur Valley is so much fun i had a blast. its very educational, there are dino footprint inpressions everywhere. also look around on that site and you will find alot of good state parks

this is right next to Dinosaur Valley State Park. its so amazing. i think its one of my favorite places in tx to visit. you get to drive around a field area and feed wild animals(you have to pay for the food you can give them, but its not much, and you dont have too) have your kids reach out the window(or not) and feed the animals. the animals are really fun to watch. one ostrich chased after us in the car. its quiet the experience.

go here too: http://www.cypressvalleycanopytours.com/ this is a cable type thing you swing on, and i had so much fun. my little sister and her girl scout troup(they are 9-11 year olds) me, and a bunch of parents went on it. your children are just the right age to go on it. its so much fun, you swing from tree to tree(its perfectly safe) trust me. im afraid of heights, and i had no problem with it. its quiet the thrill.

hope that helps and have fun in texas!
