I have loved Bette Midler since the early seventies when she used to play in the bath houses of New York. She had some great music then and used to redo a lot of old forties standards, such as In the Mood. Buy the CD Bette Midler Live I believe it came out in the seventies as well and it is fabulous, just like Bette.

No way! I have been a fan of hers since her first album.
One time I was in NYC with my friend on vacation. We wanted to go out and see a play, but couldn't agree on what to see. I looked in the New Yorker's back pages and saw that it was Bette's opening night at Radio City the next day, so we went down to Radio City in the morning and stood in line for like 3 hours for tickets. We were not disappointed! Her show was totally amazing.
She is one of the finest singers AND comedic actresses around.

I'm a really big fan of hers. She was excellant in "The Rose." I hope she got awards for that. And her voice is so beautiful. I've thought that if I get married again, and could have my choice of superstars to sing at the reception, I would pick her! (I also saw her in concert in 1979, I believe, in Hartford, Ct. She came up out of a big oyster shell!) And now she's also doing humanitarian work, funding a new playground in New York City! God bless her!
