For some reason my computer wouldn't read the disc I had for my printer (hp) when I got it back from the shop and had to re install. I just hooked it up and when it "detected new hardware" I followed the instructions. But you do need to be connected to the Internet at the time. It worked for me. But the first time, it didn't download everything, so I had to un install and re install one more time and now it works just fine.
