What are some ways (in theory) to bring good or bad luck?

Question

Besides throwing salt over your shoulder or rubbing budda's belly what are some ways that would supposedly bring good luck?

And what are some things that are thought to bring bad luck in theory of course?
ex. walking under a ladder

"In theory" being the operative phrase in the question is implying that I am not expecting much in terms of reality, in other words I am not planning on putting the responses into action or hoping to obtain good or bad luck through them. I just want to be informed about what people had proposed as actions of "good or bad fortune." I am aware of its faulty guarantee of realism. I am just curious.

Basically, it's words: if someone praises you or says things like "you are hot", "you will get the best marks", "you will do it", you will fail.
If someone denounce you, you will succeed.
It does not mean naysayers, but rather wishes.
They vary from country to country. But the meaning stays the same. So, if you go somewhere, to have a tests, I'd say to you: "No feather, no fluff", and you reply "Go to the devil!" It comes from stone age, when
someone went out hunting. I wished them to hunt nothing, so they will get a lot of food.
Spitting on something would be good, too (on the thing you like the best, to denounce its value in the eys of that jealous something).
It all comes from the deep belief that there is a jealous somebody
(gods, God, ghosts, souls, whoever) out
there, listening, and the minute we praise something or express a
certain desire, we'll fail.
So, if you want to have good luck, just before the enterprise, ask
somebody to spit on you or say: "I wish you to fail". Then you will do it!
If you express some desire of belief (I know that I will get that job),
immediately cross your fingers (meaning of crossed fingers - it's not true; so that somebody who listens would not try to make you fail), or knock at the wooden surface and spit behind your left shoulder.
There are spells for luck, too. Lucky talismans, things, people,
places.

First off there are two parts to luck in both forms.

The first is your view. You have to believe you have some luck in order for anything to actually happen. It is the same with religion and magic. It doesn't work for those who don't believe.

The second is the more magic, mythical portion. Sometimes things bring good luck. Coins, figurines, things of that nature. A good sign of luck in the natural world is butterflies, four-leaf clovers, things outside of their normal parameters. Then their is created forms such as specific items that seem to generate luck. For me, I have a pair of dice that seem to provide good luck.

To bring bad luck is another matter. That usually invovles state of mind more than good luck.

It's all in how you look at things. Thinking positively will bring you good luck or at least make it seem like you have it.

well supposedly if a black cat crosses your path. but I don't believe it. I believe we can be bad luck magnets by expecting the worst and by setting ourselves up via bad decisions and negative attitude.
