vitamin B complex, ibuprofin and iron supplement.. its like a period cocktail... i swear it works!
Also, exercise!! Even though its the last thing you'd feel like doing, it really helps with cramps.

Working out. I know it's the last thing you want to do when you are cramping, but get on that eliptical and work it out! The activity releases endorfins (happy hormones) that relax you and getting off the couch and doing something will help take your mind off it. Exercise might increase your blood flow slightly, so make sure you have a fresh tampon or pad before you go.
I especially think that yoga is the best thing for cramps, since all that stretching really does relax your muscles. If you can't find a yoga class, the one best position is to sit on the floor with the soles of your feet pressed together. Your whole abdomen will release.

im surprised no one mentioned PRIMROSE OIL coz i can seriously vouch for it. I have really atrocious period dramps and nothign works, not even prescriptions from the doc until i tried primrose oil capsules. Its my life saviour, i can never do without it!! Periods suddenly became much much much more bearable! Plus its completely safe and healthy and good for skin, go for it.
