See if you can find a book by Charles R. Morris called The Tycoons: How Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, Jay Gould, and J. P. Morgan Invented the American Supereconomy, published by Henry Holt, 2006. Depending on your bent towards capitalism, you may find numerous, but the more pragmatic soul may not find anything really, really bad.

See if you can find Jeffrey D. Brison's book Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Canada: American Philanthropy and the Arts and Letters in Canada (McGill-Queen's University Press, 2005; p. 24ff). It tells of Rockefeller's perspective on business and using his money "to the good of my fellow man according to the dictates of my conscience." What you may find as "BAD", Rockefeller may have been completely unapologetic yet with a greater reasoned moral to it than you might be equipped to appreciate.

Dale Carnegie had an interesting piece, an example in his Lifetime Plan for Success (The Great Best Selling Works in One Volume, Sterling, 2001; see p 517ff).

I am answering the question stating what he did that was bad, recognizing he did some good things.

1. He ruthlessly established the Standard Oil Company Trust, literally destroying any competition.

2. In order to get land, buy out businesses he would force people, such as one documented case of a poor widow, to sell at a very low price.

3. He would force businesses that traded with his competitors out of business.

4. He did not testify honestly about his business practices before Congress.

5. While operating cruelly and harshly in business he professed to being a devout Baptist. That would surely be hypocrisy and not in keeping with Jesus' teaching.
