If you go to Covergirl.com and click on beauty consultant it helps you with the perfect shades for your eyes and skin tone. Just because you have hazel eyes doesn't mean a certain color will work with your skin tone.

if you want 2 play up the hazel 4 a night out use a black/black brown liquid liner 4 drama. sweep a bronze on lid and smudge a light pink into crease.Use a gold highlighter on brow bone.
want 2 bring out the hazel? Use a light gold over entire eye lid,put pink on lid and smudge a bronze into crease. On the outer corner under your eye use a tiny bit of pink along lash line.Use a pencil liner in brown for soft definition.

You are lucky because you can play up just about any color. I'd say try to match your blouse color or pick a color from a multi-colored blouse and emphasize it with your eyeshadow. Smoky colors such as deep brown or dark purple work well for more formal occasions, and you can go from funky (or punky!) to serious with metallic shades. Use more to be wilder, and less for a more subtle look.

Ok-i have hazel eyes too and used to struggle with what eyeshadow to wear, but here's what I found out:
if they're more green than blue, gray, peach, and nude look best.
if they're more blue than green, try green gold, light blue, and browns.
Also, if you use eyeliner/mascara, get a grayish shade that's not quite black, but is pretty close because it keeps your eyes from looking dull, even if you're tired or wear contacts!

Purple goes amazing with them, as long as it's noticable. I have brown/hazel eyes and i love it.
