As long as the owner doesn't have a problem with it, you can run a home based business anywhere. Talk with your dad and see what he says. You don't have to own property to run your own business. If you're looking for a business, check out my site:

You would just have to have the permission of the person who owned the home and some types of businesses would have to OK with the city you live in too. Like if you are talking about an online business then you don't need anything more, but if it was something like where people came to your place of business then you might need something from the city saying it was ok top run the business out of the home.

Weather your home is bought and paid by you or not it's still your home. Therefore, you can indeed start a home based business. You just won't be able to write off certain things on your taxes like the space in the house that your business takes up. Although, you can say that you rent the space from your parent that does on the house and write it off that way.

Absolutely yes. I was a renter for many years and always had a home business. It has nothing to do with your home...it just means that you are not working in a commercial place of business.

Who says you have to own the house? As long as you are doing nothing illegal, sure, why not? Look at it this way, Do all the shopkeepers who run a business own the building they are in?

Your father is your landlord, so if it's OK with him Go for it! Check your local zoning laws, just to be sure. Mail order and online businesses are great options.
Here is an option I can highly recommend. It is 100% online, ethical, proven and it sells itself:
