Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can
coming out with pictures of the Empire State Building , and the
Pledge of Allegiance on them.
However, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge, "Under God."
Pepsi said they didn't want to offend anyone.
In that case, we don't want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate
office, either!
So if we don't buy any Pepsi product, they will not be offended
when they don't receive our money that has the words
"In God We Trust" on it.

Wow I hadn't heard that. If its true, shame on them.
I'm not a Pepsi fan anyway, but what stupid marketing to put their product in the line of such a topic of heated debate.

This is an urban myth:
This false and utterly pointless call to arms is a variant of an email protest targeting the manufacturer of another soft drink, Dr Pepper, in February 2002. Dr Pepper cans did, in fact, carry such a patriotic slogan during a brief promotion in 2001-2002 and featured an excerpt from the Pledge of Allegiance. However, Pepsi — which is manufactured by an entirely different and unrelated company, I hasten to add — has never run such a promotion, nor announced any plans to do so.
Official statement from PepsiCo:
We wanted to clarify an erroneous report that has been circulating around cyberspace for some time. Pepsi has not created any packaging containing an edited version of America's Pledge of Allegiance. A patriotic package used in 2001 by Dr Pepper (which is not a part of PepsiCo) was inappropriately linked to this rumor. Dr Pepper's position is very clearly articulated at: http://www.dpsu.com

Cool. I love Pepsi and will buy it however it comes. As a patriotic atheist though I will especially like the new can.
Edit: Now why would you cut-n-paste an internet rumor like this? I should have checked it out before I responded. Shame on you and shame on me.

I hate the cans period, they lose the fizz so quickly and I wish they'd bring back the bottle. Now I buy the plastic one's, but still they seem to lose the fizz faster than the glass bottles did. As for leaving out Under God, we all know it should be there, and I wish all the people who don't believe in God would just shut up and let it be. It isn't our fault they have such crappy lives from the choices they've made, nor is it Gods.

You do realize that spreading false rumours like this is the same thing as "bearing false witness" don't you? You remember, the Ten Commandments and all that?

I think they should put it, and if you dont believe in god ,or our government, then just dont buy it. They have the freedom to say or not say it. I may not agree, but it's their right or freedom of speech.
