Nvidia has the newest cards out and newest hardware. it also has less parts for SLI than ATI for crossfire or crossover. Nvidia has more support with drivers and i prefer it's easier use.

if overclocking is a passion of yours, Nvidia cards are easier to overclock with the simple software that Nvidia provides or some that can be found over the internet.

I too am in the process of needing a graphics card. I have learned that ATI will no longer be supporting graphics card soon, so I am going to go with the nvidia card. Geforce cards are the best as most of my friends have recommended these cards for the gaming experience.

Good Luck

nVidia is the preferred graphics solution for gaming. SLi outperforms Crossfire mostly. However, I prefer ATi. I'd go with either a GeForce 7600 GT or a Radeon X1650 XT. Also, in some games, there's a feature called "coolbits" I have never used it, but I've heard that it can allow you to tweak your gaming experience.

Right now Nvidia has the upper hand, but the two companies regularly leapfrog each other with a new video card and each has been top dog at one time or another.

You can't go wrong with either. The driversets are mature for both.

Try Ati Radeon X600, 512 Mb, it's working very nice. I have one and I am very pleased. After you buy it, and install it try NFS Carbon or NFSMW. It's cool.

Both make excellent adapters ... depends on the model.

Matrox is the choice of graphic professionals....the ones who can afford them anyhow...
