I was just wondering what my chances are because
my dad is a twin
my dads grandfather on his dad side is a twin

I'm prego with identical twins, and they run on my moms side and my fathers side and my boyfriends side so it was bound to be me, they skipped generations on my family side, my grand mother on my moms side had 2 sets and my grandmother on my fathers side had 4 sets and my boyfriends moms grand mother side had 1 set so i got the luck of them all hehehe

My father's mother was a twin and that is it as far as anyone in my family knows. Fraternal twins can be inherited from the mother's side...father's side has nothing to do with it. Identical twins are luck of the draw.

2 years ago I got pregnant and I had went into the doctors office with my sister when she told me that my grandmother from my mothers side had twins but they passed away from being premature (back then there was no medicine and technology for premature infants) and that she wondered who was going to have twins in the family..I didnt even think twice about me having them...so i went about my pregnancy not knowing how many babies were really in there but i noticed that my pregnancy symptoms were horrible and iwas hungrier than i was with my first child during pregnancy....
I ended up having a miscarriage at 12 weeks but was reassured by the doctor that when they did the ultrasound there were two babies (twins,wow) and that one died at 7 weeks and 1 died at 8 weeks and that my body never miscarried naturally up until 12 weeks,which is what my uterus measured..I was devastated knowing i was miscarrying not one baby but 2...But even if twins do not run in your family at the moment they could run in your family from your ancestors...Good luck (if this question is for you)...

I was pregnant w/ twins, but lost one of them at 12 weeks. I'm 23 weeks now w/ the remaining baby. No one in either of our families has twins.

I have 1 aunt with twins, and 2 cousins with twins and my brother and his wife have twin girls.
I think my great aunt - my grandmother's sister - was a twin, too!

My sisters are twins, my aunt had twins, , my Grandmother had Twins, and my greatgrandmonther had twins. my aunt and both grandmothers were on my dads side...
