It's a musical note embellishment that's printed in small type and not counted in rhythm; usually an appoggiatura.... kindof like a musical stutter!!

A grace note is just a note played before the principle note. Like if you were to see it in music, its a smaller note to the left of the actual note. Its like you're rolling it. You play it very quickly. You hit the note to the left and the principle note at the same time, but you let go of the grace note as soon as you hit it, as if the keys were hot, and leave the principle note down a couple more seconds.

A fast note, sounded immediately preceeding the note following it. It is always written as an eighth note with an up-stem, a considerably smaller notehead than regular notes, and a semi-diagonal slash line going horizontally through the stem.

Think of it as a little quiet note that slips in while the performer is on her way to playing the main note.

it's kinda hard to explain but from what I know it's usually an eighth note a step or two below the next note that is played/sung immediately before the next note producing kind of a sliding effect. ... I might be wrong...

grace notes occur as notes of short duration before the sounding of the relatively longer-lasting note which immediately follows them

If I remember correctly (I haven't played an instrument for a few years) it's a really quick note before an actual note...it's really really quick.. It's kind of hard for me to explain... but you don't hold it like you would a normal note, it's short..
