There was a hip-hop/R&B music video a few years back that featured a black male standing outside a deaf woman's window singing a love song and holding up what seemed to be flash cards. At the end of the song and video he proposes to her. Does anyone know who sings the song or even just the name of it?

Some people wrote Lionel Richie, they're thinking of the song where he sang to a BLIND woman.
It was Common...can't remember the name of the song though.

The whole media perception of beauty as being ANYTHING but full black has got to the music industry, true, it is quite rare that full black girls appear in music videos, although they are some like Brianna Myles and Angel Lola Luv, it could also be because we black girls have more self respect and dont enjoy booty clapping in the back while some rapper degrades and insults women. Music these days has changed, in the 90s you would have a black girls dancing and appea in the video, but then again most music in the 90s isnt as vulgar and disgusting as it is today, even though i was born in the 90's if i was older i would have prefferd to appear in a vvideo now than then. Black women have more self respect that any other race out there, thats why we dont dress slutt and try to "act" sexy, unfortunately, it seems mixed race girls dont inherit this view and are slags

Common is the singer, I don't know the name of the song. It is NOT Lionel Richie. In that video the woman makes a clay sculpture and he doesn't propose to her.
