hydroelectricity is considered a renewable energy and a sustainable source of energy. Unlike the solar energy, the production cost of hydroelectricity is much less. Although it can cause some environmental problems due to damming the water, still it is a sustainable source of energy. There are many big hydroelectricity projects including the Three Gorges in China which can produce thousands of MW electricity.
