When I do see a star on a question, I punch in to see who put it there. A couple times saw that the only star was put there by the asker themselves.
I still like the thumbs up or down system.

Some folks thinks we can't use the thumbs any more, but I still rate with them.

Yep, I like the Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down system too. This "Star" system is too dang confusing and nobody is getting any "stars" at all - the system is too dang picky about what it wants as a "star"

It is pretty stupid that people can give themselves stars, I agree. I don't really know what the stars achieve.
If you want to get a lot of stars, however (for what they are worth), if you have an interesting question you've asked, put it into In Voting, you'll probably pick up some stars as the question goes through the voting process.

I prefer the old system and I feel like starring then i go and actually star as much as I can for an intelligent question or series of them.......I notice that i have few and that is simply the way that it is I have no need to star myself. Good point.

Well I really don't STAR questions but when there was that THUMBS UP/THUMBS DOWN thing I didn't do anything either so I really don;t care about that.I don't think the STAR SYSTEM is working here.

Hello Kiwi. No, I really don't pay much attention to the stars. I like the thumbs up, thumb down system better too. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

No I don`t, I prefer the thumbs up/thumbs down. That way you can record liking or disliking it. This new way assumes if you don`t like it then you must dis-like it. That isn`t always the case.

I sometimes star my own questions before or after others starred them. Sometimes people star resolved questions too. I don't star others' questions a lot, I keep forgetting to do that i hope they don't take offense
