Hi Kostt,

I borrowed £450 from my step-sister. I went to pay the money back but she had moved and did not leave a forwarding address. She is not in the phone book either, I checked.

I would never to that, it is so low-life, dishonest, chickensh*t, and to disrespect someone that helped when needing money, is so disgraceful. As for as me, no, I do not loan money without a promissory note to back it up. If the person fails to pay me back, all the above apply to this person and I would take them to court and collect or get a judgment against them. The person that fails to pay back a loan or credit debt is a theft.

Had that happened a few times. Friends/Family would borrow and I would never see or hear from them in a while. The most I've loaned was about $700, silly of me because im still waiting to receive it back.

I'm a fool to myself and tend to find the words 'don't worry about paying it back, you can have it' tripping from my tongue before I know it. It's been £100 here, £100 there... 'you can't afford to come on holiday with us?.. oh, well how about I pay for you, I want you to come', etc.

Actually, I usually have genuinely wanted to be generous - I like giving more than anything else - although I probably shouldn't, because to date I still have £0 savings:(

On the down side, after living abroad for a while, I flew back to England without paying my chiropractor. Still feel bad about that one.

Yes, I have had it done to me, 400 bucks. But I pay my bills first regardless if I have any left for myself or not. You can be assured that the person with my 400 will never get another cent from me.

Later found out it was used for drug money ,GRRR

Yes. Luckily it wasn't a massive amount, only a few pounds or so, but it was still infuriating to find someone who'd sworn blind he could pay me back had then just disappeared.

I can't imagine doing that to anyone.
My brother still owes me £1 he borrowed when we were kids; since I only got 15p a week pocket money it was a huge sum to me. I've also had people borrow things and not return them or return them damaged.

I pay my debts.

Most pay me, too. Once, I loaned $500 out to someone who desperately needed it. He tried to pay me back, made some small payments. Then, I discovered that he was not buying his food, to have the money to pay me. I told him the debt was paid. The remainder was a gift.

its the disappearing part I can't quite get down. I have seen magicians make people disappear but I am pretty sure it is just a trick.
