The more I learn form life experience and my studies, I tend to believe that the Ancient Egyptians were not far of the mark with their belief in the Law of Ma'at.
Balance, the need to maintain equal order and power in all things natural and supernatural.
The opposite of this is chaos in all things.
They saw no need for the concept of a Satan as Christianity applies it.
The God Set was identified with chaos, as was the female Tefnut.
If the balance was tipped to far to the side of chaos it was considered as a threat to their life and the balance of order in all things.
Neither did they belief in any concept of Hell, only in a state of oblivion.Which to many superstitious minds must be an even worse alternative.
Christianity has taken bits from all of the old belief systems and recycled them as their own.
This can be an interesting comparative study in its own right.
There are in fact, very few if any incidents, events or characters that can be said to be an original Christian concept.
Even monotheism had been practised by Akhenaton, who believed the Aton to be the true and only God with no human form.
At this time the Israelites were still practising a form of polytheism. Having both a God and Goddess.
The reality is, if there is good there must be evil.
Man did not invent it intentionally. It is the price we pay for having the ability to plan our survival methods by conscious thought.

Since both good and evil are subjective terms and based on judgment, it's clear that they're concepts devised by humans in order to describe and differentiate between actions. It's also clear that there cannot even be a notion of evil if the intent is missing. In other words, there is no such thing as an evil deed unless it's accompanied by the intention to commit an evil act for the sake of doing evil. Without an intention, the deed or act is simply a deed or act without context.

Evil is a man made perception. It is based on fear of an unknown or an image conjured up by man to frighten ignorants into following a cause , be it religious or otherwise.
Now we equate evil with heinous deeds, like murder most foul where bodies are dismembered. Christians love to paint pictures of Satanic worship and other nonsense to these acts. They are awful but not inspired by any real Satan or devil possession. .
Christians in the past commited many heinous acts against mentally ill people stretching them on racks burning them with hot irons to drive out the devil. Today we use medication and therapy to deal with these unfortunates. Or we gaol those who have committed serious crimes. Groups like the Charles Manson clan used devil worship to recruit screwballs. They attract each other. But in true essence there is no devil with a pitch fork burning souls or causing man to do evil. Man is quite capable of doing or achieving "evil" intentions without being under the influence of a Satanic being.
The die hard Christians will thumbs down my input, but put it down to their own ignorance of reality and their need to believe they are going somewhere where most are not. All a matter of distorted perception!

Evil is real we all see it every day,but where does it come from,is it part of god? did god make it? if he is real. How can god make a mistake?Do god and satan fight for a grain of nothing in open space. How many worlds are out there how many gods?Seems like a lot of space for us life forms to wonder about. Are we all and everything we see a part of the body of god?Is this all a dream? Are we all gods? There are more questions than answers, and if given a answer would we understand it?Time he came back and explain it all again ,and take us out of here.

Satan was definately invented by man. Have you ever met an evil rabbit? I think Saddam was evil but it was his mind. I believe in a universal energy but no good or bad guy. We can do what ever we want with that energy and we are not always good.

Evil exists independently of man. Man chooses to act upon evil impulses there fore bringing it to him... and it can be a distinct aura that a person that is bent on evil deeds permeates. Folk lore and Folk stories just mimic the human condition which evil is a part of.

I believe the answer to your question is found in the Bible. God created angels prior to the creation of the universe. He created them with a will to choose to serve Him. One angel, Lucifer, decide he could be as powerful as God, and so rebelled. God kicked Him out of heaven, along with other angels who followed him. When God created the world, and placed man in it, He also gave man a free will to choose toi serve Him. Satan, however, tempted man with a lie, and man deliberately disobeyed God (sinned). With that, sin entered the world, and rebellion against God has brought about the evils we see today. The further man ventured from God and His righteous laws, the more evil he becomes.

People are just duchebags, i could go into a long religiuos explanation but i'm to lazy, you already know the answer to the question.... of course it does. And how could man invent something you can't see? men don't invent feelings, we were born with them.

Man invented it through religion.
With or without religion good people will do good things and bad people will do bad things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
