i did wonder what u would be able to get away with. I reckon most types of theft as long as you don't use violence would be fine at the moment

heres my view (tougher sentences + less criminals waying up the odds = less crime and more prison places quite simple really .
the way the system is set up now is a vicous circle , more leniant sentences , more scumbags waying up the risks and if its worth it because if they get caught they know they will get a fine comunity service or maybe a small sentence so now what you have is more crime which breeds , the prisons filling up and sentences getting even leniant and a never ending problem that will never get any better and is sadly by design , watch there solution will efect the whole nation.

Feel to stop over crowding the UK an US should pay a third world county like Thailand, Cambodia etc. to house these guys. When they got out I promise you they would forget all about crime. They would not be going to college to be better criminals, Think of all the money it would save us too.

I think that if you have little or no fear of retrubution then the evel side of human nature will take over and rule.
The majority of mankind is held in check through fear of reprisal.
and as far as UK prisons filling up to overflowing I say too bad.
I do not feel sory for countrys that do not have Capital punisment.

but there is no get out of jail free card. if your complacency extend to actively vreaking the law because you can, the we live on the edge of anarchy.
just because you can get away with it, doesnt mean you will. and we all know right from wrong, some of us choose to ignore the consequences. but we know going in, whats likeley to happen if things go pear shaped... and they do..
but we know what happens whne we get caught.. you get a record, a file in a folder. and theres the penalty to pay... one way or another the state always gets its pound of flesh...

Well here in the States part of our prison overcrowding problem is due to perpetrators of victimless crimes clogging the court system and the prison system. If we legalized drugs, we'd have a lot more room in our prisons for true criminals.
