The fit for starters. Not that guys clothes are not tailored, but their body types for the most part are not like those of a female. Most girls' waists' curve in for a natural indentation, and then flair back out for our hips. While guys have that too, its not as pronounced therefore in clothing it is not as pronouced.
Color options and patterns are next. Especially with the current trend light airy patterns and colors are very popular in female fashions, with heavy influences lately from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. The Boho look with the long billowing chiffon tops and knit accents are becoming popular with designers for female clothing. The bright colors and polka dots also are influencing clothing you see in stores. Male clothing seems to stay pretty classic through out the years, with minimal influence from female fashions. Classic button down shirts (that do in fact button on the opposite side as female button downs), pinstripes, heavier blends of materials (i.e. wools, tweeds, blends) blazers, dark outerlayers with lighter under layers.
Next are accesories. Women lucked out here, bracelets, necklaces, headgear, rings. The options are endless. Where as men have stayed true to classics again with a simple watch, possibly a signet ring, but not often really. Maybe a necklace witha cross on it or someother religious medalion.
Other minor things like jeans, the super low rise, fading and flared legs are typical of female jeans where males tend to have a slightly higher rise and keep it to fitted, relaxed, and casual fit.
well I hope that was somewhat helpful and what you were looking for..sorry it was so long winded..wanted to be informative for you!

what the hell does this ought to do with sociology. as for elementary trend making females have a bust line females's buttons are on the left adult adult males's the right (the common sense,,, mans clumsy palms) a guy unbuttoning a gals blouse jointly with his precise hand. Ease interior the seams like adult adult males's crotch or for gals the hips and zipper length which will get the device out. there are more desirable yet !!! no longer many adult adult males positioned on kilts yet gals can positioned on skirts only fairly masking their crotch or butt.
