Are you close with this person...close enough to be able to ask personal question...questions that may hurt? If you are not that close with this person all you can do is tell someone (a counseler or a teacher)...this will ensure the persons' privacy is maintained. If it's you who is going to "investigate" be very careful and be very thoughtful about your approach. I do not want you to scare this friend away. The first step is to get the person talking, confiding in you, and most of all trusting you are just there to help...not to bring attention to the hurt they are experiencing. You have to be genuine and from the bottom of your heart have care and concern for this persons' well-being. The most important advise I can give you is to not pry and not accuse a family member, let this person offer up the info after gaining trust in you. I hope that you get to the bottom of this and help this person...there should be more people like you...caring enough to find the right way to handle such a sensitive situation.

Are you still in school ?? If so YOU need to go to the school councler and talk to him/her about all this... you do NOT have to give a name until after you have told the whole story and hear what they say about it all..... IF they know what they are doing and have the right training they should be able to handle it very well and the right way...... Are there brusies on this person ? A change in personality ?? Are they NOT talking anymore ? Are they showing signs of fear when running late getting home ? Are they wearing long sleaves when they should wear short ? same with pants.... do they always wear a coat ? glasses ?? LOTS of make-up, if girl ??? there are signs if you know where to look, and a counceler should be able to see these signs..... so do NOT take this on urself, GET help NOW...... God bless

Hmmm, this is a question that can be dangerous to you, as well as to the person you believe is being abused.. Try to find out more info, and SOLID evidence, before you do anything. But, by the same token, do NOT just ignore it. If possible, talk to the one you believe is a victim and find out what you can, and, if it is necessary, contact the police.

I do not believe in calling authorities with one exception, and this is it. I think by your question you are sure that this is true. Even if you're not 100% sure, call the police or Child Protective Services. I hate tattlers, but this is one area where one cannot be too careful, and I would call the authorities.

Try get him/her to open up to you and tell you everything. Then you know for sure whats happening and can take the right action such as going with him/her as support to the police station.

If you have no proof, you have no legal right to report them it as a child abuse case.
If you do have evidence to the contrary, however, report this right away by calling Social Services.
You just may be saving a life. +_+

Most States have a web site with suggestions and what you should do. For example, Ohio is here:
http://www.pcao.org/whatis/suspect.cfm
Something like that may work.

First of all you want to make sure that they are. But if you know for a fact that they are then you need to go to the cops. But if you go to school report it a teacher and tell them the students name. If you don't want your friend to know it was you then tell them you would like to stay unkown.
