of course not. intelligence does not equate to being a good person. i know many people who work in blue collar jobs who are lovely people, as well as people who work in white collar jobs that are lovely. i also know people from both groups who are not so nice.

No, it isnt really needed at all for most professions, but it does help fund all those doctors and lawyers out there. I mean, if schools only had doctors, lawyers, and other very technical degree seeking students, they would be charging those students three times as much what they charge now. So yeah, if it makes you feel better that you didnt waste that money, time, and effort, sure it makes you a better person. I havent been, and have a great job where most of the people in the office where I work also never obtained a degree. We see each other as equals wheather we have a masters or nothing and the company is doing great, so, I guess it is all the way the cookie crumbles.

No it just makes you better educated. I have worked on a College Campus for over 20 years and came across a lot of well educated butt heads. Not that all educated people are like that but some are.

Better educated, but not necessarily a better person. You get out of college exactly what you put into it. If you are dedicated, you will gain knowledge and experience that can be helpful for the rest of your life. You'll learn time management skills and forge friendships that could last a life time. You'll improve your capacity to analyze situations and learn to think on a higher level. But all this, although definitely helpful later in life, doesn't make you a better person. For that, I'd say, go on a mission trip, or volunteer in your community, or become part of the big brother, big sister program, etc, etc, etc...

I think it can. It probably depends on what you put into it, what you get out.
Ideally, through your college experience you can/will
1) learn how to better problem-solve
2) Learn to become more independent and advocate for yourself
3) Become more knowledgeable about important ideas and contributions to society
4) Become more knowledgeable about the world
5) Make lifelong friends
6) Develop credentials that will secure you a better job than you would otherwise
7) Make more money, with which you can help yourself...and others
8) Make a positive impact on the world
9) Instill a deep appreciation for education in your offspring, who can repeat -- and improve upon -- the cycle
My thoughts, anyway..

I do not believe it does make you a better person. It just gives yo the opportunity to accomplish more in life with the tools to obtain better employment versus not having a college education.

yes and no... College education just gives you more knowledge.. You don't have to be in college to get a better education.. as long as you are constantly expanding your brain you'll be a better rounded person.
but jobs can be a problem without college

I dont know about a better person but it does help you grow and mature tremendously in the 4 or more years you are there. It is an experience I think everyone should have away from there home town to better develop YOU, and your ideas without the influence of what you've always been taught. Not saying you should'nt believe what you've always been taught, but you can choose for yourself if want to believe it. And choose your own path.
