Dude...everything this guy says is so tongue in cheek. He's such a good guy and so funny that people know his heart is in the right place and that he's just being gibert. This is the guy who screams 'Hibachi' every time he shoots...when asked if he would be a spokesperson for the habichi grill he said, "Why would I endorse the hibachi grill when I am the hibachi grill?” The guy who set his house at the oxygen level of Denver so that he would always 'be above sea level', the guy who, in his rookie year, would buy doughnuts for the team, then lick off the powdered sugar and put baby powder on it. He's just a good natured, funny guy who was always told he would amount to nothing and would never play bball very good. Gotta LOVE gilbert!

Gibert Arenas is really a great person. He does crack a lot of jokes with a dry sense of humor. The fact is he is a really good basketball player. He was labeled as not having enough talent to make it to the NBA. Once in the NBA others then told him he wouldn't be a very good player. Personally I love players who have something to prove because it makes them play better. Also unlike other superstars Gilbert doesn't just go after points. But he scores within the flow of the game. Hell, his team needs him to score. His drive and determination is what makes him so proud. He works very hard at being good at what he does.

Gilbert has an issue about proving himself to people. Thing is, he's good enough to back up that claim. When he played for Arizona, he was one of the best scorers in the nation, and now his game is levels past where it was then. He works on his game nonstop and it was only a matter of time until he became a household name. He can score like Iverson and will get teammates the ball.

well he said that he could score 84 or 85 in a game aginst Duke...which he probably could...and as for u calling him a "freak" well ur just wrong. Hes a great guy, great basketball player, and great person. Hes always giving back to the community, he donates 100 dollars for every point he scores at home to local schools...ohhh and i enjoyed watching him drop 51 and hit the buzzer beater aginst the Jazz...hahaha

To be fair, he probably could. There's a fairly wide gulf between the skill level at college & that of the nba.
Without a doubt, he's one of the top guards in the NBA - and yes, he's not shy about letting everyone know. However, he does tend to play better with a chip on his shoulder - like the 'slight' he felt when he was cut from the Olympic team. I sometimes wonder if he sets himself up to be slighted (so he'll have something to play for)...

I used to like him a lot, but now I just find him a little too arrogant. He CAN score and he CAN steal the ball away from you, but check his assists and rebounds. Points aren't always the things you should look at in the NBA.

Whats your question?

He said that because he could score that many points in a college game. I guarantee if he was on the Jazz you would love him.

I'm not a Wizards fan.

He's got a little bit of a chip on his shoulder. Part of it is because he got cut from the Olympic team this summer. That really rubbed him the wrong way.
