Yes, if you deserve them... but some people get confused about the definition of good things, and usually wish for what they don't have, instead of enjoying what they already have, for not recognizing the good that is around them.

I think it is more true that things RESOLVE to those who wait.... New career opportunities, heartbreak from losing a loved one or lover, anger or problems that weigh heavy on you and the ability to tap into your philosophical side.
People that sit and "wait" for something to come to them generally end up disappointed and watch life pass them by. However, people that learn from life's lessons and press through the hard times are the ones that walk away with good things.
Every day, hour, minute and second is another opportunity waiting for YOU to grasp it. It is intangible and cannot grasp you.... especially if you are too busy waiting.
Good luck and blessings to you.

Yes, though patience can be a virtue, sloth is a deadly sin. By that I mean that you can wait on good things to come, but you also have to give something for it, like work for it to happen.
It's 50-50, waiting for the right thing to happen, but also work so that the right thing happens to you.

Yes. Haste makes waste. Particularly in making life decisions like picking a mate. Give yourself time to know people. This can take years. Some people can pretend for a good long while.
Old idioms like the one you questioned are old idioms for a reason! Here's another one, "Act in haste, repent in leisure!" In other words, if you choose something quickly and make the wrong choice, you'll regret it for a long time.

How about letting me ask YOU a question:
If you brought home takeout food froma resturant, and it only tasted good while it's warm and fresh from the resturant, would you:
a) Sit there for an hour staring at it, untill it's cold and gross
b) Eat it and enjoy it with company while its still warm.
You decide.

Very true indeed. You might not always see them as good things at first, but they always turn to be in the end.
