How to get found on google and yahoo? Does it help if you pay to advertise? I could do with a webdesigners advice on site design as well as getting my website found in sites like in yahoo., any suggestions out there??

You can try SEO but if you arent experienced as a web designer this can be a very expensive option with no guarantees to work.
Online advertising in general is a great way to reach a lot more people or to target who you want to reach.
The main forms of paid online advertising are PPC (Pay Per Click) and Banner.

if your site gets linked from other sites they wll eventually find you. they have bots that browse around. i have a bunch of my site pages on yahoo and google but ive had to for a few years so i dont know exactly how long it took for that.
