So, I just wanted to know if I was a paramedic and decided to go back to school to be an RN. how much school would I need and does it take away any time if I finished my paramedic course?

If you look hard enough, you can find a Paramedic to RN bridge program. There's a few community colleges that offer this course; It's a shortened nursing curriculum. You usually need to be a currently licensed paramedic with a year or two of field experience, and it really helps to have most of your general education (math, english, etc) courses out of the way before you begin. The course I'm applying to is in Albany, Georgia (Darton College) and the nursing courses are held one day a week to accomodate the paramedic's typical schedule (that includes clinicals, too!). However, these bridge programs are few and far in between, and it doesn't really take much time off the degree.
If you aren't already a paramedic, try to become an RN first, and then take an RN to Paramedic bridge program. These programs are also hard to find, but they are much shorter (a few months) than the Paramedic to RN bridge program.

Hope this helps.

no.. u still have to do just as much schooling. U will probably be able to clep out of classes like Anatomy, etc.. If u have a current first aid/CPR cert. U may not have to re take that but the schooling would still be the same (though u would be able to make better grades due to experience)
