That hit was perfected in the old Texas League a few decades ago. Thus the name Texas Leaguer.

Texas Leaguer -- A fly ball that drops between an infielder and an outfielder for a hit.

Worm Burner -- Batted ball that moves across the ground hard and fast.

Seeing Eye Hit -- A soft ground ball that finds its way between infielders for a base hit.

Old Clunker -- ???

The answer is A. Texas Leaguer
It's named after the Texas League, idk the story behind it but it sure would be interesting!

I attend Frisco Roughriders games all the time (a Texas League team) and I can assure you the answer is a Texas Leaguer. Someone told me it was because the outfield fences in Texas League games used to be unnecessarily deep and so outfielders would play deep, causing a lot of balls to drop into the outfield that would be caught in a typical game. I am not sure if this story is accurate or urban legend.
