and I hav known her for like five years, but none of my other friends like her. They say that she is really guy crazy, and that she doesn't stay focused on the conversation. All of them are really good friends of mine, but i feel really uncomfertable when they say mean things about her. I told them to cut it out, and they just kept going. I don't know what to do...please help

The topic isn't boys, they admit you can have a good conversation with her, but only if there aren't any distractions(and by distractions, i mean guys). my friends are the curious sort, and whenever i invite them to anything they ask who else is coming....and...its not that their talking to me influences my opinion, i just hate to have one friend trashed by another

I admire you for taking a stand.
It is awesome that you have made the request to ask your other friends not to talk about another person that you consider a friend when that person is not there.
Depending on how strongly you feel about it you might want to leave the room for a few minutes while they are doing this.
You dont have to be rude about it, you can just leave the room and say excuse me I have to go to the bathroom or whatever.
The next issue....is what they are saying true?
Maybe this is their way of asking you to talk to her about her behavior as they might want to include her in different things but it gets pretty boring if the subject of converstation is only BOYS, BOYS and more boys.
As hard as it might be, if this is something that detracts from what you seen in her, it might help her to have a broader social circle.

When they start, tell them that you like hanging out with them but you can't listen to them trashing your friend, so you will have to leave for a few minutes until they get it out of their system. Then, if they don't stop, do it.
Maybe this will influence them to stop trashing your friend. If not, maybe they are not very good friends after all.

That happened to me.... It DIDN'T turn out good. It got so bad that when we were in the middle of the fight our teacher found out! Then we all went in a mean girl fight! (beleive me we've had talks like that a lot. I guess u can say my school is a little dramatic.) I was the one stuck in the middle too! and u no wat i did?! I ended up crying about it with several other girls in it! Yeah my advice is have that one other girl and your other friends hang out with u at the same time and don't tell them about the other coming. They will learn to like eachother.

Ignore them. If you really like her, what they shouldn't matter to you. Just ask them to please stop discussing her around you because you want to be friends with all of them and that's hard to do when they gossip about her right in front of you. If they really are your friends, they'll stop. If not, you're probably better off without them because they can't respect your other friends.

Tell them to back off. Say you can be friends with them but your still going to be friends with your other friend. And if you invite them over tell them who your inviting and be confident, they might back off if you feel more confident. Might...

i have the same problem!!!!!!!!!!!!this is how i deal with it:
first i think u sould just ignore them about what their saying but u sould still be their friends and try to make them know that friend and tell them why u like that friend so much they sould understand
