People aren't sure. Since the galaxies are all rushing away from each other, then there are probably millions we have no clue about. Onces that are too far away, and ones that are forming currently, and ones thats red shift is so great we can't see them.

There is no real answer to that question, since the universe goes on infinitely and there are trillions of galaxies scientists don't even know of yet.

Don't know. The more astronomers look, the more they find. The night sky is full of millions of them at least. They are faint blobs of light that look dim against the nearby stars, but if you look through Hubble at one little tiny scrap of sky magnified millions of times, this is what you see:

To mimic Carl Sagan, "billions and billions". Hey, we do not even see our immediate backyard in outer space yet.
But then, if you do not see them or detect them, does it mean they do exist? Or, do they?
