Replace the rotor and distributor. That should fix your problem. I have a 1992 Pickup with a 350 TBI, the same as yours. I had the same problem a few years ago. One way to check your fuel pump is to just turn the key to the "ON" position and listen for a hum underneath your pickup coming from the gas tank. If you don't hear anything, then your fuel pump may be crapped out.

3 issues, gas, air, and spark. If the engine does no longer turn over on the starter, then you definately've a battery difficulty with a ineffective battery. ineffective battery=no spark... ok, so cost the battery. confirm the connections are all astounding vivid sparkling and tight. Then, pour a tablespoon of gas down the carb throat and supply it a whirl. it is going to turn over and it is going to fireplace on few cylinders from the gas vapor in the intake manifold, with any luck long adequate to run the gas pump to get gas into the carb. If it does no longer proceed to run, try yet another table spoon of gas down the throat. you may ought to repeat a number of situations until eventually gas gets from the tank to the carb. What you're able to do is disconnect the gas line from the carb and direct it right into a can. Pull the middle cord from the spark coil out of the distributor. get rid of it thoroughly so there's no loose end to make sparks. Then turn the engine over with the starter. whether that's a mechanical pump which i think of that's, after a together as, it is going to start pumping gas. Mechanical pumps are self priming in the event that they do no longer look to be broken. whether that's an electric powered pump, all you like do is turn on the ignition. you ought to hear the pump start up. pay attention for it. electric powered pumps are additionally self priming in the event that they do no longer look to be otherwise broken. the main trouble-free mode of failure is the rubber factors interior the pump, which cracks and develops an inner leak, so the pump action works, however the gas short circuits from the opening lower back into the inlet in the process the cracked rubber and it does zip. examine the ignition factors, factors, plugs, condenser. examine the distributor cap for cracks. The ignition won't artwork if there is quite some airborne dirt and airborne dirt and mud in the works, isn't adjusted wisely or otherwise fails to make a spark. Get a handbook so which you be attentive to precisely the thank you to do a minor song up for factors, plugs and such. a similar e book will inform you approximately timing, valve adjustment (if mandatory) and all the different belongings you ought to regulate now and lower back. I actually have a 1968 Ford F-250, it is extremely a similar routinely as you have, factors, plugs and condenser, all mechanical ignition, no computing gadget of any type everywhere. the main state-of-the-artwork subject on my truck is the smog administration it is composed of a PCV in the line which connects a valve conceal breather to the carb...

pull one of the spark plug boots and stick a screwdriver in it and hold it close to something metal under the hood. Now while you or someone else is holding it turn the engin over, if you don't see a spark the it is either the coil or the distributor. From the way you make it sound you are not getting any spark. Another way to do that is pull the boot and stick another spark plug in it, this is easier to do than use the screwdriver. You want to make sure that you are in a dimly lit place so that you will be able to see the spark.

It sounds like you have a no spark condition (coil, module, cap, orrotor) This engine is a throttle body injected engine. You ought to be able to see fuel squirting from the injectors with the air cleaner off and with the engine cranking. This style of fuel injection needs about 12 psi of pressure to run.

without knowing the year of the vehicle it's difficult to say. However if it has a distributor then most likely it's the distributor module. This is located inside the distributor. Remove the distributor cap...then the rotor...you will see a little black box with wires connected to either side. You can remove this and take it to your local parts store and have it tested. Most likely this is the problem.

Hope this helps

first check for short in the throttle body wiring harness look where it exits the carb. Check all of these wires. A short here shuts down the computer. If no short then check your coil, may need replacing.

there is an ignition control module($75) and coil($57), these will more than likely cause your no spark problem.. it seems you have gone the gauntlet. i hate electrical problems because you need patience and a voltmeter. and i just want to get it goin'. good luck.

you seem to have a ignition problem..........hei distributor,s are notorious for shorting down through the rotor.........remove the rotor.....see if it has a burn spot on the bottom in the center.....if in doubt...replace it......if still nothing....check ignition module, dist. pick up coil........if your distributor has a vacuum advance unit ...check pickup coil connecting wires.
