The other day i was bench pressing and towards the end i was straining to get one more rep. On the last rep i felt a weird feeling in the back of my head like something popped. It was hurting a lot n i felt dizzy. Now for the past week ive been getting headaches. Is this serious?

This could be the result of a cervical disc herniation or could be an effort related headache. The latter is usually a benign (not serious) condition, but you need to seek medical advise to rule out other causes (such as a vascular problem...which could be serious). A cervical headache can be caused by a herniation in the disc of the neck...you might have neck pain, but not necessarily. Once you have the headache, though, certain movements of the neck will make the headache worse, and others will make it better. This usually requires treatment by a physical therapist who has received some continuing education regarding cervical headaches.

you need to make sure that you keep yourself well hydrated durning exercise. You also need to remeber to breath when you strain to get that last rep. in you hold your breath subconciously that would explain why you felt dissy. hope these tips help in the mean time take some tylonel and take a break for a day, get alot of rest and dink lots (water, poweraide) If it contiues i would visit the doctor.

Strained something...or maybe you busted a blood vessel.Either way go to a doctor cause it's definantly not normal.

Yes, it sounds like it might be serious. It could be a busted blood vessel. Go have it checked out as soon as you can
