Excuse me, I am vietnamese. vietnam is a poor country in some parts. did you ever think that maybe they want to improve their "image" but they can't afford to? kids beg on the street for food, and people struggle to survive everyday. so show some sympathy for them before you start accusing them of being dirty people. and that goes for all people who think vietnam is dirty.

I have been to Vietnam 5 times and will return this June 07. I really don't find any real bad habbits. Some beggers and some hagglers get a bit pushy; but that is about it. I think Vietnam is a wonderful country and a great place to visit. The people are quite clean and the food fantastic. Cheers

First of all, the image of Vietnam is currently very good so the people of Vietnam should feel proud of their country. Even those of Vietnamese heritage who live in other countries should feel equally proud of their ancestral land as well.

The Vietnamese are known for their great work ethics, patience, entrepreneurship, creativity, thrift, love of learning and education, adaptability, courage, resilience, family values, community spirit, patriotism, hospitality, artistry, literature, poetry, love of music, loyalty, piety and many, more wonderful traits...

As for habits that may need to improve, I can only think of two: not forming a line (queue ) while waiting for their turn and not paying enough attention in the conditions of public toilets.

I've noticed that at airports, when a flight's ready to be boarded, everyone rushes to the gate and not standing in line to wait for their turns in a orderly manner as in America (but this condition may not be limited to Vietnam but may be common in many developing countries). Also the toilet facilities at public places sometimes are not at their best conditions (this can happen in places in Europe as well).

Vietnamese are the most dirty, manipulative two face people to deal with. As a landlord I had my experience n I'd refuse to ever rent to Vietnamese. Trust me they think they're God's gift n for what the war made their country turn into they think the whole world owes em a sympathy n apology.

litter pollution in sea everything is left on beaches, eating habits disgusting, noisy mouths open etc, drivers worse in world, young girls sell themselves for peanuts, filthy dirty everywhere, restaurants filthy, rather throw rubbish on floor than bin 1 metre away, lazy men prefer to sleep on pavement than work, block all pavements and just sit on floor eating. One thing to add very nice and sociable???
