The body's ability to regrow cells is important, why, if we were unable to do this then a simple wound would remain there forever since no new cells are being made to replace the damaged cells.

BTW scabs are formed by platelets in a process called blood clotting.

For example, it helps grow new skin cells. Let's say you scraped you knee. Your body protects the wound by growing special skin cells over the wound called a scab.
