The Conservative Party of Canada will begin launching attack ads against new Liberal leader Stéphane Dion during Canadian coverage of the Super Bowl (Canada doesn't get US ads). This is due in large part due do the fact that more Canadians watch the Super Bowl than any other single televised event - even more than CBC or CTV news, the Grey Cup, or the Stanley Cup.
I say Go Conservatives Go. I also think Canada is the only nation in the world that pays more attention to another nation that it does to itself.

Let's think a little, shall we?
A population of 300,000,000 compared to a population of 30,000,000.
Canadians are pretty active and we love our sports, but we can't deny the fact you guys have a lot more people playing in your leagues and yeah, we aren't so cocky that we can't admit the States have some great players. So do we, by the way (e.g. Team Canada).
We like your football...we also like the CFL and we are proud of it, but you guys put on one good show! We know how to have fun and we like a good party. By the way, we watch sports from around the globe, so get off your high horse, eh?
You guys provide good entertainment, but don't go thinking that we think you guys are ahead of the game in regards to the big issues. You should be careful before you insult another nation...you may leave yourself open for a lot of insults.
By the way, I hope the Conversatives lose and everyone knows that if NDP voters voted Liberal, the Conservatives wouldn't be there to begin with. Unfortunately we go screwed like you guys did with the Republicans - differently, but screwed just the same. I am sincerely sorry to all you intelligent American Democrats!
Well, now you know why we love the NFL, but I wouldn't believe the information you have quite so quickly. That statement about us watching NFL more than anything else is as true as CNN being 100% factual! I suppose you believe that too.
And yes...we don't pay attention to your nation...WE PAY ATTENTION TO THE GLOBE! It is called 'being educated'. Perhaps you should try it for once. I know some of the more intellectual citizens of the U.S. really do focus on more than just the U.S. Even they think you've made a big mess lately.
IN RESPONSE TO YOUR ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
In case you didn't notice, the Americans that responded to your question also thought you were American. You may live in Calgary, but there is nothing Canadian about you. What is vulgar is that you would actually insult your own nation...or are you just living here. If you are so fond of the States, maybe you would like to make your way there. Don't underestimate the nationalism the rest of us feel. I don't need to click on your profile to see that you are very uninformed.

Considering that the Conservatives are in the pocket of the US, its hardly surprising that they would use an american sports event to broadcast their ads.
And I highly doubt your "fact" that Canadians watch the Super Bowl more than the Grey or Stanley Cups. I have never known one single Canadian who has ever watched the game.

So you mean Canadian superbowl fans won't see the year's most clever ads for beer, cars, computers and other modern enslavements? Canada must be dull. And this politician you speak of--is he related to those quintuplets? And what's with Stephane? it sounds like a girl name. What's wrong with Steve, or Etienne if you have to get all Quebecky about it?

Don't feel alone! We are the only nation that every nation allows it's people to protest without reprisal!
But if they think they can protest their OWN Nation---Beware!!!
Who the hell ever said "It's good to be the King"?

Canadians are so dependent of the progress of events in US and it is the reason why politicians even use US TV shows for their campaigns.

i doubt canada cares about the us more than it does about itself. and i say the conservatives are aholes because they have to resort to offending the other party to win. that's pathetic.
