Yes, I think that most African American's are colonized by Eurocentrism. As a result of our denigrating neighborhoods and our weak presence in the American education and business sectors, many AAs (and other cultures) believe that we are a lower class of people who don't want more and couldn't get it if we wanted more. This belief was originally propugated by Eurocentrism and has infiltrated itself so deeply in our culture that we have begun to play out these negative beliefs (self fulfilling prophecy).

Yes, I think that most African Americans are colonized by Eurocentrism. now there are alot of black born with blues eyes and blond hair. but that is suppose to stand for "pure" white. and you can also tell cause look at all the girls on tv, you really never see black girls who look black. there are a few, but very few.

Most, yes I agree with. I think history, media, politics, and everytyhing under the sun has influenced black culture and beliefs. Blacks are suffering from some poor self worth, values and beliefs these days. Some of us are doing anything to fit in to make life easier for ourselves, not realizing that if we hold what is true to us, we will prosper and grow.

Also this can be looked upon in a reverse standpoint, because other races have been taking notice of hip hop, etc.. Not as much as what is posed here, but it is still evident.

I definately believe so, from our standards of beauty to our materialism, African Americans have been negatively affected by Eurocentrism. So many of the African ideals of family, spirituality, natural healing, and culture have been lost, I guess that there was no other choice but to accept the ideals of the dominating culture. It's just very sad to see the negative affects of this on our youth.

Yes. Look @ black women and what they do to their hair. Relaxers = "creamy crack". Its strips the hair of its natural curl. I am no longer a slave to relaxers.
