I am quite aware that there is no law such as this. It is only a request for your opinion! One answerer said that politicians have the same laws to follow, and another reminded us of the Ted Kennedy issue. We have politicians getting their pensions when they have spent time in prison for commiting felonies that have been made into misdemeanors so they would not lose their pensions. It is a matter of not being held to a standard of integrity. We need stronger laws to prevent the temptations that come with their jobs.

It all goes way beyond your direct inquiry. It is called REFORM. When you can get beyond the politics and favor doings and get enough people to act on any given problem, than answers to questions like yours will become law.

huh? they have to follow the same rules and usually get the same punishment for breaking the law as anyone else (though i will say their punishment is usually much more lienient because of who they are)

Case in point Sen Kenedy left a woman to drown in his car and went home. Hes still a Senator and never spent a day in jail

Well our Attorney General (Mike Cox) has admitted to a felony and he got re-elected. I think throwing them out of the country is a bit extreme but I think throwing them out of office should be automatic.

Only non-citizens can be thrown out of the US after committing a crime. I do not know of any US politicians that are not US citizens.
