I am looking to sell mine, it works great and has Windows XP on it, etc but can't find any guidelines. Some help would be appreciated!

Should also point out that I am in Sydney, Australia, it has a wide screen, and I paid approx. $AUD 2,200 for it just over 3 years ago.

Visit eBay and look for similar laptops and hope for the best.

Basically, with a used laptop, I wouldn't buy one. A brand new one is somewhere between $500 & $800 for one that is much better than your old clunker. Let's do some quick math.

A new laptop might cost $700 and last 7 years. That's $100 per year. If your poor old laptop is 6 years old, it's got just 2 years left, making it worth about $200. Of course, I'd be really mad if I bought a clunker and it lasted only 2 years, and I would have gotten a much better computer at the same $100 per year price.

So my offer would be $100 on a take it or leave it basis,

Since laptops are the most stolen item in America, and fewer than 2% are recovered, I would simply assume that anyone selling an old laptop for $100 was a drug addict that was looking for a FIX. I think that I would check the POLICE DEPARTMENT with your serial number before buying.

You are better off keeping it until it's DEAD.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

A new notebook with better specs can be purchased for under $700.

You should be able to sell your unit for anywhere between $450 to $500 ... maybe more if it has a large screen.

The Vaio name goes a long way.
