With no offense to you or any others who answer, An agent isn't in the business of creating, determining, or charitably, empathically, sponsering TALENT, or the lack of it.
They are in the business however, of percentages and income based on that.
Certainly they make less if you do, but initially you'll have to Front some funds, as they have you sign, and tell you "I'll get right on this"

There is really no way to find out if you have "acting potential." The only thing to do is to act and see if you enjoy it. If you want to act for the money or the fame you will be sorely dissappointed. Take a class, audition for a play, have fun, and be happy.

to act you have to go to an agency or find an agent (same thing). Your probablly talented.TO become famous you will have to go to an agency though. Sorry...

Go to auditions. Lots and lots of auditions. You will probably be cast in something and then you'll have the experience of having done the actual work.
