People act like it's wrong for me to listen to that kind of music. I'm grown. I'm 23, & I have a right to listen to whatever music I want. I wear my earphones, & no one hears my music. But for example, if I'm listening to Juvenile or Young Jeezy or something, people got a problem with that because they curse in their lyrics. Nobody gotta listen to it but me, so how am I wrong? But that same person who tell me not to listen to that music will be one to curse me out in the next 5 minutes. Boy, I don't get this world!

Well I was raised on rap and I'm used 2 the cursing most of time the ppl who got a problem with it are usually the ones that don't understand the lyrics but cool wit it that's why they make edited versions, or put explict on the song

First off: I can't STAND rap music...with or without cursing...but I will not begrudge anyone listening to what they enjoy. As far as the cursing goes, if used sparingly, it usually makes sense. If it's every other word, that's just excessive and shows that the performer doesn't have too much creativity (in my eyes, that is).

I came up listening to metal, so I've listened to music with cursing, but if that's what makes you listen to it, then maybe you should consider WHY you like it?

Branch out to other musical forms and see if there is something else that brings you enjoyment. No one said you have to be restricted to just one genre.

Good luck in dealing with the idiots...

It does not bother me as long as i don't have to hear it. Many times I'm having a perfectly nice day and some local ganstas pull in with their rap blaring from their stereos with all the cursing in it that i don't care for. I mean you would think people would have some respect especially when it seems to be a big issue with them. With your earphones on, I can't see how you bother anyone.

First, To me, rap "music" isn't music at all.
Second, I don't see why there has to be swearing in anything the public has to listen to.
Third, there aren't too many morals left out there anymore. And don't say 'they're just words'.

Rock songs had curse words in them before Rap was born .
If people don't like your music tell them to mind their own buisness !

I grew up on rap, hip hop and R&B so when people talk negatively about it I ignore just ignore them. People should be able to listen to what they want when they want especially if they're buying their own music.

But then what rhymes with stitches? :)

Seriously if it's just a non-stop stream of profane and degrading stuff, yes I agree.

But if it's sparing and artistic, like Eminem, that's ok.
