what kind of dress should i get?

for my grade 8 grad dress, what kind of dress should i get, i am indian... but not that dark.. just a bit darker than tan, my hair is dark brown with a tint of red but sometimes looks black, and i want a short dress, like up to my knees or just past them and grad is in the summer.. so any ideas?

White is a beautiful graduation color. However, any jewel tones will look good on you too. Like royal blue, emerald green,or red. AlI will look great with your complexion.
Main thing is try on dresses until it hits you which dress you feel the prettiest in and that is the dress for you..........
I owned a formal wear store for 23 years and you will know what you feel the best wearing and looking at yourself in the mirror....
It does not matter what anyone Else's opinion is...please yourself.

Yeah all those are great suggestions - if your rich! If you have to buy your dress yourself check out www.womenshelp.net click on their links they have some great dresses there for cheap and they are designer names. You could also get you a pai of new shoes there. Everything is new and nothing is more than 15 bucks! Good Luck, I know you will find something you love there.

Red would definitely be my choice for you. I would recommend Macy's, Nordstrom (online), BCBG, edressme.com, and bluefly.com. If you're looking for a dress that's not too pricey, check out forever 21. They have some cute dresses also. Good luck. Have lots of fun!

if ur tan i totally get a vision of a red dress. something a little higher than knee length with no or large print. i suggest stores like forever 21 or american eagle.

i would get a white silk dress, something that shows off your body. white looks great on tan people, like mysellf and you. i think you will find some great dresses by betsey johnson.. she has unique party and graduation dresses that are beautiful! only problem is they are a little on the expensive side.
