The battery is the pitcher and catcher.
They dynamic duo is Batman and Robin (superheroes)

The Dynamic Duo because the shortstop and the second baseman are the core in the infield. A lot of action happens in the center of the field such as double plays which can get a team out of an inning very quickly. If the team has a dynamic duo then the team is probably very good in the middle of the field and turning double plays.
