What is the theoretical yield of silver chloride if 1.266g of calcium chloride are reacted w/ exces silver nitrate? Ans is 1.646g

i dont understand how they got this ans..so can somebody tell me how to do this prb thankz!

I will try to keep clear and concise.
Find moles of CaCl2 and realize you have 2x that many moles of Cl(1-) ion in solution. Assuming silver chloride to be completely insoluble ( a little false) then you know the number of moles of AgCl that precipitate - find grams.

Accurate calculation involves the use of the Ksp - but since you did not mention I will assume you are not there yet>

first you set up the chemical reaction and balance. Then you find the mole-mole ratio, convert that into grams and simply solve the equation.
